Join us on 17 July for an exclusive opportunity to hear from Secretary for Education, Dr the Hon Choi Yuk-lin, JP, on the Government’s priorities and upcoming initiatives shaping Hong Kong’s education landscape.
As Hong Kong advances its role under national development strategies, including the 15th Five-Year Plan and Greater Bay Area integration, education is increasingly positioned as a key pillar supporting talent development and innovation, and enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness.
Against this backdrop, the Government is advancing initiatives to strengthen Hong Kong as an international education hub – including expanding non-local student admission; promoting the “Study in Hong Kong” brand; advancing digital and AI capabilities; developing the Northern Metropolis University Town to deepen collaboration between academia, research, and industry; all the while supporting the attraction and nurturing of high-calibre local and global students and talent.
This Town Hall Forum will offer business leaders valuable insights into the Bureau’s latest policy direction and ongoing initiatives, including how the latest reforms are enhancing post-secondary pathways, strengthening industry linkages, and supporting talent development through closer alignment between education and evolving economic needs - building a future-ready talent pipeline for Hong Kong. Complementing the Secretary’s keynote, Professor James Tang, Secretary-General of the University Grants Committee (UGC), will also join as a special guest contributor to share the UGC's perspectives on the sector’s development and advancing Hong Kong’s higher education ecosystem.

Dr the Hon Choi Yuk-lin, JP, Secretary for Education
Dr Choi joined the political team of the Education Bureau as Under Secretary for Education in 2017 and assumed the office of Secretary for Education in 2022.
Dr Choi has worked in the education sector for nearly 40 years. She began her teaching career in secondary schools in 1988, serving for more than a decade before joining the Education Bureau’s Curriculum Development Institute, after which she became a secondary school principal. Throughout the years, she actively engaged in community and educational services dedicated to enhancing teacher professionalism and promoting a culture of respect for teachers. Her notable initiatives included organising the Outstanding Teacher Awards and establishing the Hong Kong Teachers Dream Fund. She also served as a member of the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee, the Fight Crime Committee and the Commission on Youth.
- Bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of payment, on a first come first served basis.
- Booking transfer is allowed for corporate members with advanced notice, walk-ins are normally not accepted.
- The Chamber reserves the right to decline any booking or cancel the event. In such case, a full refund of the participation fee will be issued.
- No refund will be made for last minute cancellations or no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 7 days before the event, and in such cases the refund will be subjected to a 10% administration fee, or HK$120 deduction, whichever is higher.
- A $60 handling fee per person will be charged for all offline bookings (e.g. fax, e-mail, post) for all Chamber events. Go online today by downloading our app or registering on the HKGCC website to save the environment and money.
- Priority is given to corporate members. The decision to accept or decline any booking shall be at sole discretion of the Chamber.
