HKGCC Marks 25 Years of Youth Empowerment Across Hong Kong and GBA

First launched in 2001, the Programme has evolved into one of the Chamber’s flagship youth development initiatives, serving as an invaluable resource for educators. Over the past 25 years, it has provided thousands of students across Hong Kong with early, crucial exposure to the business world, fostering vital links between the education sector and the dynamic local economy.
During the 2025/26 academic year, the initiative continued to strengthen cross-boundary engagement. Building on the enhancements introduced in the previous year, it successfully integrated students from the GBA, broadening their horizons and fostering stronger connections between the young students in the region.
Students also gained valuable hands-on industry experience through a diverse range of activities, including company visits, targeted career seminars, and interactive corporate workshops. These opportunities allowed them to engage directly with industry leaders and deepen their knowledge about workplace practices.
These immersive experiences played a vital role in providing students with real-world exposure, equipping them with valuable insights into corporate culture, a wide range of industries and potential career pathways. Through these interactive exchanges, students gained a more thorough perspective into workplace expectations and developed greater awareness of emerging opportunities in Hong Kong’s ever-changing job market.
The Programme culminated in a closing ceremony at the Chamber on 10 July, gathering students, educators, and business leaders to celebrate the year’s achievements and recognize the dedication of the participating partners.
“Celebrating 25 years of this Programme marks a remarkable milestone in our mission to nurture Hong Kong’s talent pipeline,” said Patrick Yeung, CEO of HKGCC. “Over the past quarter-century, we have empowered thousands of students to bridge the gap between the classroom and the business world, inspiring the curiosity and confidence they need to build successful futures. We are incredibly grateful to all participating schools, member companies, and corporate mentors. Their unwavering support and dedication have been instrumental in the Programme’s enduring success and in shaping the next generation of business leaders.”
