LVMH's Michael Schriver: The Evolution of Luxury Retail

The Chamber was delighted to be joined by Michael Schriver, Group President for North Asia at LVMH, for the August edition of our "CEO 123 Tell Me More Series".

Michael's career has taken him to 16 different countries over the past four decades, experiences that he called gifts as he weighed up how luxury retail has been reshaped in recent years. Notably in China, domestic luxury brands have expanded their presence, increasing competition for international players.

For Michael, this shift has created an opportunity for global fashion and luxury houses to rethink their approach to local consumers. In fact, he noted that empowering local teams with decision making opportunities for holistic luxury experiences is what will set brands apart in Asia, especially for younger consumers. Business leaders need to not just set the pace for effective strategies but also prioritise their roles as mentors within their company and communities.
