John Tsang Shares Optimism Over Youth Development

We were delighted to welcome John Tsang, Founder of Esperanza and former Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government, to the latest instalment of the Chamber’s “CEO 123 Tell Me More Series” on 9 July held at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong. Bringing together members for an intimate dinner conversation under the Chatham House Rule, the evening offered valuable perspectives on some of today’s most pressing issues, from youth development and ageing population to AI, innovation and Hong Kong’s evolving role in the world.
John expressed his confidence in the younger generation, highlighting their agility, strong sense of social responsibility and deep commitment to society. He noted that young people are well placed to adapt, learn and thrive in an increasingly dynamic global and technological landscape.
He also emphasised Hong Kong’s unique role as a bridge between East and West, encouraging the city to continue leveraging and strengthening its distinctive advantages in an evolving global environment.
Special thanks to our Venue Sponsor, Sino Group, for their generous support and hospitality in making the evening possible.
