Ref No 005/06 - Registration as a Voter in the Commercial (First) Functional Constituency and Election Committee Subsector
13 April 2006
13 April 2006 Dear Members, As you may already be aware, the next election of Election Committee will be held in December this year. The Election Committee has 800 members out of which 12 are to be elected by Chamber members. A Chamber corporate member shall be eligible for registration as an elector in a Functional Constituency and an Election Committee Subsector, if it has been a full member of the Chamber for at least 12 months immediately before the date of its application for registration. I would like to urge all of our eligible members to apply for registration with the Government's Registration and Electoral Office (REO) on or before 16 May this year, if you have not so registered before; or to update your record with the REO if you have registered before and there are changes in your company particulars or your authorized representative. The application must reach the Electoral Registration Officer on or before 16 May 2006, if you wish to have your vote in electing members of the next Election Committee. Relevant forms are available from the Registration and Electoral Office or downloaded from the voter registration website: www.voterregistration.gov.hk. The REO enquiry hotline is 2891 1001. A limited number of application forms are also available at the Chamber reception desk. Yours sincerely, Eden Woon CEO
