26 June 2026

Arvin Zhang, Head of the New Industrialisation at the Hong Kong Productivity Council, shared insights on how New Industrialisation can serve as a practical roadmap for unlocking New Productive Forces in Hong Kong, at the Committee meeting held on 26 June. He underscored the role of smartification technologies, including AI, robotics, big data analytics and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), in enhancing production efficiency and facilitating agile customisation within the city’s constrained urban spaces. Members also gained a deeper understanding of the Industry 4.0 maturity framework, as well as tangible strategies for leveraging technological capabilities, talent development and government funding schemes to accelerate the advancement of new industrialisation.
