23 June 2026

At the Manpower Committee meeting on 23 June, members welcomed Byron Ng, Executive Director, and Patrick Pang, Deputy Executive Director (Special Duties) of the Employees Retraining Board (ERB), who presented the Board’s strategic reform roadmap to transform into "Upskill Hong Kong". To support rapid industry transformation, the ERB outlined key initiatives including a skills-based modular training framework focused on the "Eight Centres" and "Nine Significant Sectors," the introduction of stackable micro-credentials, and the integration of AI literacy into generic curricula. The session concluded with a productive discussion on expanding training services and forecasting future skills demand. During the meeting, Fanny Lau was elected as the new Committee Chairman, with Jo Ledarney and Hong Tran elected as Vice Chairmen. The Committee extended its sincere gratitude to outgoing Chairman Jeff Tang and Vice Chairman Teddy Liu for their dedicated service and leadership.
