Recognising that improving health requires collaboration beyond the healthcare sector, Pfizer joined the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce to connect with like-minded organisations and to help shape the future of Hong Kong’s healthcare ecosystem. By engaging with the Chamber’s platforms like “From Hong Kong to Greater Bay Area: Seizing Cross-Border Healthcare Opportunities” and “Building a Sustainable Healthcare Future for HK”, Pfizer successfully exchanged views on cross-border collaboration, innovation access, and sustainable healthcare development. This membership keeps the company connected to the wider business community while actively amplifying its voice as a global pharmaceutical leader.
Pfizer’s success is anchored in science and ecosystem-wide collaboration. Maintaining a robust three-to-five-year pipeline, the company invests heavily in local biomedical infrastructure through partnerships, research collaboration and talent development. Its strategic partnership with the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP) focuses on capability building, including nurturing biotech talent and supporting incubation programmes. Separately, Pfizer collaborates with local universities on clinical trials and real-world evidence generation. Additionally, Pfizer has been recognised by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) as a key enterprise, reflecting its long-term commitment to Hong Kong’s healthcare and innovation ecosystem. The company also nurtures future biotech and regulatory leaders through placement programmes with the city's leading universities.
In order to navigate a complex healthcare landscape, Pfizer continues to evolve through digital transformation. By using artificial intelligence (AI), employing AI-enabled ways of working through its CreateSmart content model and collaborating with the Pfizer Innovation Centre in Hangzhou, the company is strengthening content creation and amplifying disease awareness initiatives for healthcare professionals, patients and the wider public. Providing tangible community support is a top priority for Pfizer, and it advances this goal by partnering with organisations such as St James’ Settlement and the Hong Kong Pharmaceutical Care Foundation, on patient assistance programmes that help eligible patients manage the financial burden of accessing prescribed medicines.
